Deployed against Cyan switching platforms, the 280-0045-00 registers as a factory optic and links up with no setup step required. This is a 1G SFP built to the SX short-reach specification, driving multimode fiber out to 550m through a duplex LC connector. That reach keeps it in its lane for intra-building and campus runs, where the whole span stays on multimode plant and 550m of MMF is plenty of headroom. Optical diagnostics are reported over DDM so link health and receive power can be watched from the host as conditions change.
