The 90Y9412 goes in as a straight swap for the IBM optic of the same number, carrying 10G over single-mode fiber to 10km without altering the link. It is an LR-type SFP+ terminated on a duplex LC pair, coming up coded to the host with no configuration required. Because the 10km SMF reach and LR optics match the part it replaces one for one, the connection resumes as before and streams live diagnostics over DDM.
