25G SFP28, single fiber, single-mode, 40km, LC — the Ciena-coded version of exactly that. The CIENA-25G-BX40D is a BiDi SFP28 moving 25G over one strand of single-mode fiber to 40km, terminating through a simplex LC connector as the downstream end of a BiDi pair. It seats in a standard SFP28 cage on Ciena platforms, comes up coded as a native module with no configuration required, and reports live diagnostics over DDM. Running both directions on a single fiber lets the 40km span carry 25G without a second strand — the whole reason to reach for a BiDi optic on constrained fiber plant.
