On Dasan platforms, the DAS-1G-BX40U installs into a standard SFP cage and comes up coded to the host with nothing to provision. It is a 1G BiDi SFP running over a single strand of single-mode fiber to a reach of 40km, terminated through a simplex LC connector, with DDM telemetry available for optical monitoring once the link is up.
