The ONS-SE-2G-1610 is an OC-48 CWDM SFP with a 60km/100km reach rating, transmitting at 1610nm over single-mode fiber (SMF) through an LC/UPC interface. Fitted in a Cisco host it identifies correctly and passes traffic with no provisioning work, holding the 1610nm position in a CWDM channel plan while the other wavelengths on the fiber carry on unchanged. The specified operating range is 0 to 85°C (32 to 185°F). Mechanically it is a standard SFP, so installation needs nothing more than a free cage in the Cisco chassis.
