For extended metro and inter-site links where standard LR reach falls short, the QFX-SFP-10GE-ER is a 10G ER SFP+ spanning up to 40km over single-mode fiber. It terminates through a duplex LC, seats in a standard SFP+ cage on Juniper platforms, and comes up coded to the host with no provisioning, with DDM telemetry on board for optical monitoring.
