As a fixed-channel DWDM optic, this module transmits on a single ITU-grid wavelength so dozens of independent channels can share one fiber pair through a multiplexer. That makes it a building block of metro and data-center-interconnect backbones, where lighting more fiber is impractical and every wavelength of capacity counts. It drops into mux/demux and OADM designs cleanly, coexisting with the other channels on the grid without interference. It operates reaching 80 km on fixed ITU channel DW29.
It is programmed to present native host values, so it interoperates link-to-link with OEM modules on the far end and coexists with installed optics in the same line card without compatibility flags.
Each unit is programmed to match Juniper host values and bench-tested for traffic conformity, DOM-threshold accuracy, and optical cleanliness before it leaves the bench. Class 1 laser certified and RoHS compliant.
