At single-mode reach this module bridges the middle ground — access to aggregation, building-to-building campus links, and short data-center interconnect spans that outrun multimode but never need amplification. The single-mode path keeps the signal clean across the full distance over existing OS1 and OS2 plant. It operates 10km.

It is programmed to present native host values, so it interoperates link-to-link with OEM modules on the far end and coexists with installed optics in the same line card without compatibility flags.
